Carlos Sainz encountered a robbery in Monza last night when three individuals took his Richard Mille watch. The incident occurred after Sainz departed from the Armani Hotel in the evening. However, Sainz and some onlookers successfully pursued the thieves, captured them, and handed them over to the authorities. Following the incident, Sainz took to Instagram to assure his fans of everyone’s safety and expressed gratitude towards those who assisted, as well as the Milan police for their prompt response. This is not the first time F1 drivers have been targeted for watch thefts, as Sainz’s teammate Charles Leclerc and golfing companion Lando Norris have also fallen victim to similar crimes. Leclerc had his Richard Mille watch stolen last year, while Norris experienced the theft of his earlier this year. In both cases, the police made arrests. Richard Mille is a prestigious watch brand that sponsors both Ferrari and McLaren, hence it is customary for their drivers to wear their watches. Sainz’s watch was valued at $630,000, Leclerc’s at $320,000, and Norris’s at $180,000.
